[Gifu Prefectural Police Headquarters] Changes to Procedures for Foreigners' Driver's Licenses (Effective October 1, 2025)

When foreign residents renew their Japanese driver's license or update their address, they will need to present their driver's license along with one of the following documents:

• Residence Card (在留カード)

• Special Permanent Resident Certificate (特別永住者証明書)

• A copy of the Resident Record (住民票の写し) showing the period of stay, etc.
