Preventing a rebound of the 7th wave of COVID-19

(Excerpt from the Gifu Prefectural Governor's message)

The 7th wave of COVID-19 spread at an unprecedented scale and speed, and following its peak in late August, for over a month there has been a trend of decreasing infection rates. However, since mid-October the number of new infections has risen from week to week, and still remains at this level.

All prefectural residents are urged to actively consider getting the COVID-19 vaccine, and to fully abide by basic measures to prevent the spread of infection. For example, wearing a clean mask that fully covers the lower face, thoroughly washing hands, avoiding crowded places, frequently ventilating indoor spaces, and stopping all activity, such as work and school, when feeling unwell.
