State of Emergency Measures (Extract)

Demands of Business Operators

 

(1)       Demand for the Shortening of Operating Hours Aimed at Eating & Drinking Businesses

Expansion from "eating & drinking businesses serving alcohol" to "all eating & drinking businesses"

【January 12th (Tuesday) - February 7th (Sunday)】

・   Targeted: Eating & drinking businesses serving alcohol

・ Demands: For the period, shortening of operating hours to until 20:00 and

shortening of alcohol serving hours to from 11:00 until 19:00

・   Compliance Fund: Payment of 1,540,000 yen per business branch to those fulfilling the   

conditions for the whole 27 day period

 

【January 16th (Saturday) - February 7th (Sunday)】

・   Targeted: Eating & drinking businesses (regardless of whether or not they serve alcohol)

・   Demands: For the period, shortening of operating hours to until 20:00 and

shortening of alcohol serving hours to from 11:00 until 19:00

・   Compliance Fund: Payment of 1,380,000 yen per business branch to those fulfilling the

・                    conditions for the whole 23 day period

 

(2)      Restrictions on the Hosting of Events Etc. (from January 16th)

・ Indoor & outdoor events restricted to 5,000 people or less

・   Additionally, events held indoor must be at 50% or less of venue capacity

・   Shortening of opening hours to until 20:00

 

(3)      Encouragement of Shortening of Operating Hours for other Businesses (from January 16th)

・Targeted: Facilities other than eating & drinking businesses as specified in Article 11 of the Special Measures Law Enforcement Order (excluding schools, nurseries, business branches selling essential daily life goods and business branches offering services essential to daily life etc.)

・Contents: Shortening of operating hours to until 20:00 and shortening of serving of alcohol to from 11:00 until 19:00

・Encouragement of limiting of events to 5,000 people and limiting of use of venue capacity to 50% or less

Theaters, galleries, movie theaters & performance venues

Gathering venues, public halls & exhibition centers

Museums, art museums and libraries

Hotels & ryokans (limited to those parts used for gatherings)

※Excluding those facilities targeted by the demand for the shortening of operating hours based upon the Special Measures Law.

Entertainment facilities (facilities that have not obtained permission to operate an eating & drinking business under the Food Sanitation Law)

・Encouragement of shortening of opening hours to until 20:00 and shortening of serving of alcohol to until 19:00

Business branches with a floor area greater than 1,000㎡ selling goods (excluding those goods essential for daily life)

Business branches with a floor area greater than 1,000㎡ offering services (excluding those services essential for daily life)
