Class Summary

  • Japanese class for absolute beginners taught by a Japanese instructor. Students learn the minimum essential Japanese needed for daily life.

  • Conversation-focused class. Using teaching materials prepared by the instructor, students learn Japanese expressions necessary for daily life.

  • In addition to teaching materials, games and other activities are used to make learning Japanese fun and engaging.

For people who live or work in Takayama City.

Two semesters per year

  • First semester: April – September

  • Second semester: October – March

Fee: 6,000 yen for each semester

About the Organization

The Hida Takayama International Association, which promotes the internationalization of Takayama City (established: July 24, 1987), has its secretariat located within Takayama City Hall. Currently, its activities are managed through the Mayor’s Office, Secretariat for Exchange Affairs. The association conducts foreign language courses to promote internationalization, organizes citizen overseas dispatches and receptions from sister and friendship cities, and engages in SNS communications to promote multicultural coexistence.

  • You can learn Japanese from beginner to introductory level with an experienced Japanese instructor. Even if you don’t understand any Japanese at all, it’s okay. First, let’s learn the Japanese you need for daily life!

  • In addition to using teaching materials, you can study Japanese in a fun way through games and other activities. If you want to practice speaking, let’s enjoy learning together and build your conversation skills!
