The Hida Takayama International Association (established on July 24, 1987) promotes internationalization in Takayama City. The association’s office is located within the Takayama City Hall, and its activities are currently carried out by the Mayor’s Office, Secretariat for International Exchange. The association organizes foreign language courses to promote internationalization, facilitates citizen overseas dispatches, accepts delegations from sister cities and friendship cities, and engages in promoting multicultural coexistence through social media outreach.

The Japanese language instructor, as a member of the Gifu Prefecture Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Committee, not only teaches Japanese, but also provides education on culture and daily life to children with foreign backgrounds. In addition, the instructor offers various forms of guidance and support. Seasonal activities are also incorporated into the lessons.
